President- B.U. PTO
PTO has been busy. We
have spent the last three
months welcoming new
members as well as sponsoring
our annual events. I've had
parents ask me what PTO
actually funds,so I thought
I would include a list of
what we have paid;
for the last three months:
*$235.70 toward school
supplies for families in
*$60.00 for 100 bracelets
for Drug Awareness Campaign.
*$50.00 for Levy Advertising.
*$300.00 for Superkids field
*$156.00 for 4th grade field trip.
*$75.00 for Teen Institute baby-
sitting at Craft Fair.
*$30.00 for purchase of emergency
clothing for use by the school nurse

I hope this gives a clear picture
of what PTO does for our school.
Enjoy the newsletter, and as always,
please join us at our meetings the
first Tuesday of every month at
7pm in the Elementary Library.
Refreshments, door prizes, and
babysitting all available at no
cost. Hope to see you there!

Market Day
Raising funds for Education
Janie Heston, our Market Day Chairperson, reports that we have raised $950.00 in the first three months of this year for our school. Our thanks to those that support Market Day, and also to the many that come to help on pick-up day. We've been having a friendly contest between classes to see which class brings in the most Market Day Orders. They then have the honor of a special "prize". In Sept. (before orders had been taken), the classes of Ms. Baker and Mrs. Mackender won the Market Day envelope decorating contest. They were treated to a Popsicle party for their efforts. In Oct. the most orders turned in were from Mrs. Relifords' class. They got to pick out an outfit for Mr. T. to wear to the last home football game. They picked the tutu, which brought good humored laughter to the halls. (thanks Mr. T!) Nov. contest was won by the classes of Mrs. Orzedchowski and Mrs. Mackender. Mr. T will be receiving a pie in the face from them. (Again, thanks Mr. T)

We are now offering Market Day ordering online. You can access this through the PTO site at

  Craft Fair
"To Grandmother's House We Go"
Our 22nd annual Christmas Craft Fair was a success, and a lot of fun too. Almost 100 dealers had set up their handmade gifts and crafts, there was great food to be had from our kitchen, and the raffle and bake sale were big favorites! This was the first year we had a table especially for kids. For a $.50 or more donation to our White Christmas fund, children could decorate an ornament for our live Christmas tree.
There are so many people to whom we owe our gratitude for making this popular event such a success. Among them are Kara Mendenhall, Cindy Wright, Sheri Garrett, Linda Hewetson, Sonya Downour, Tammy Shelly, Karen Shull, Jill Cripps, Lori McCrady, Brad Garrett, and the many volunteers that hwlped these chairpeople.
